center for experiential Learning & diversity
I started working at the Center for Experiential Learning & Diversity the summer after my sophomore year. This is the longest I've ever had any sort of job, although it now feels more like a family to me than a job. My work is simple; aside from the occasional budgeting and other office maintenance work, I sit at the front desk and help students utilize the resources available through the nine programs in our office. So why did I stay and do this for over two years? Because although I have no plans to be a receptionist later on in life, I do want to work with people, and this job was perfect for that. I truly enjoyed being able to help my fellow students find their place in the university. On top of this, the advisers I worked with became like family to me and I discovered programs that I previously did not know existed. This work inspired me to get more involved in the university and the people helped me to do so. Huge thanks to my EXPD family!
